WuLi Records is a full-service, independent recording, merchandising, publishing and promotion company. The label is dedicated to artist development and final recorded product distribution.
WuLi owns and operates two studios in the Chicago area, Sviteknolgy Studios and Studio Ten23, and these self-described studio rats know that a first class recording is imperative to creating quality sounds.
However, after an act is recorded Svitek and McGuire require all artists to attend mixing sessions in order for each act to understand the process and contribute to the next phase of the recordings. Many times an artist is not included in the mixing process and conceptual conflicts arise. Allowing the artist to participate in the mixing session ensures the performer maintains his/her artistic vision.
Experience Pays Dividends
Drawing upon their experiences as Chicago natives, Svitek and McGuire have a keen perspective when arranging performances for their varied artists. Both have performed in many of the same venues that other acts are struggling to enter. Their vast knowledge and network allows Svitek and McGuire to arrange optimal settings for their acts.
The dedication WuLi has to Chicago's music scene is unrivaled. Svitek and McGuire have born witness to the city's rise and fall as one of the country's musical hotbeds. We want to make great music and we want to do it surrounded by family and friends in our hometown. Chicago has a rich heritage of musical discovery and it's thrilling to know we are continuing its lineage and that makes for an exciting future.
